Belarusian Football Federation invites FIFA president to visit Minsk

The Belarusian Football Federation has prepared an official letter to invite newly-elected President of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Gianni Infantino to visit Minsk, First Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Football Federation Sergei Safaryan told media on 29 February, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Safaryan who took part in the work of the FIFA Congress in Zurich last Friday together with head of the Belarusian Football Federation Sergei Rumas said that the Belarusians were among the few who had an opportunity to personally congratulate Gianni Infantino on the victory. Sergei Safaryan also noted that Gianni Infantino's expected visit to Minsk will be timed to the opening of a new technical center for Belarus' national teams. It will take place somewhere in Q2 2016.

From the very start Belarus supported the candidature of Gianni Infantino with whom friendly relations were established during his work at the post of the UEFA Secretary General. Football infrastructure is being actively developed in Belarus and other countries of Eastern Europe largely thanks to the support of the leadership of the European football.
