Putin: thanks to Russian Geographical Society we learned a lot about geographers’ heroism in WWII

The Russian President appreciated the great work done by the Russian Geographical Society in the preparation for the celebration of the 70th Great Victory anniversary.

The Russian Geographical Society continues the traditions of education and enlightenment, puts into practice bright and creative projects. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Geographical Society Board of Trustees.

He reminded that last year the Geographical Society festival was visited by about 70,000 people.

“On such platforms people shape the attitude to Russia, its history, culture, environment; they have a desire to become a member of a large, open, honest work to be useful for the Motherland,” admitted Head of State.

He also appreciated the great work done by the Russian Geographical Society in the preparation for the celebration of the 70th Great Victory anniversary.

As Putin said, thanks to Russian Geographical Society the country learned a lot about the heroism of geographers, topographers, and meteorologists, shown in the Great Patriotic War.
