For the first time in history, several dozens of companies lost the status of the "Skolkovo" Foundation residents, due to the termination of active scientific research. Vice-President of the Foundation Kirill Kaem said this to the TASS correspondent.

70-80 companies representing all the five clusters lost the "Skolkovo" resident status. The Foundation has carried out such a procedure for the first time," said Kaem, adding that it "required changing of the regulatory documents."

The agency's interlocutor said that the secession was "conflict-free for all the companies with no exception", as the decay of the scientific activities was obvious for both of the parties.

The total number of the Foundation residents (more than 1000 companies) hasn`t decreased, quite the contrary, as the companies that left were replaced by the new ones carrying out active research, added Kaem.

The Foundation supports research and development in five areas (clusters): information technologies, biomedical technologies, industrial technologies and materials, energy efficient technologies, technologies for children.
