Russia and Liechtenstein to simplify visa regime on April 1

On April 1, enters into force the agreement between Russia and Liechtenstein, which simplifies the procedure for issuing visas to citizens of the two countries. This information is provided by the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The two countries, as explained the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, consider multiple-entry visas valid for up to five years. “We regulated the time periods of visa applications consideration (5 working days for all the categories of visas; in cases of urgency up to 3 working days or less), and the fees for processing visa applications (35 euros in running order, 70 euros when submitting documents no more than 3 days before the intended date of departure); we also established the categories of persons exempted from visa fees,” informed the Ministry.

The Foreign Ministry added that they simplified the procedure for obtaining visas for official delegations’ members, entrepreneurs, people of science, culture and education, pupils and students who leave for studies, participants of international sporting events, participants of exchange programs between twinned cities, as well as for close relatives of persons who live legally in the territory of Russia or Liechtenstein.

In accordance with Article 5 of the agreement, Russian citizens will obtain visas via diplomatic and consular offices of the Swiss Confederation, representing the interests and acting on behalf of the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Ministry concluded.
