Lukashenko to Nazarbayev: We want you to win presidential election


The Presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan Alexander Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbayev held a bilateral meeting in Astana. The information is given by the press service of the Kazakhstani leader.

At the meeting the two leaders discussed the key issues of the Kazakhstani-Belarusian relations, including cooperation in economic, trade, investment, industrial and agricultural sectors.

Furthermore, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Alexander Lukashenko exchanged views on acute problems of the international agenda.

According to BelTA, the President of Kazakhstan stated that accelerating integration processes, the President of Belarus contributed to the creation of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) on 1 January 2015.

Nazarbayev admitted that all the agreements, reached by the countries within the framework of bilateral cooperation, are successfully kept. In this connection, the Kazakhstani President named a great number of joint companies of the two countries, stressing that the work will continue.

The Kazakhstani Head also highlighted the importance of the “Norman format” meeting, held by the four European leaders in Minsk: “It’s great that Minsk managed to hold the meeting, you contributed greatly to it. All in all, the war is over. I mean a cruel war and bloodshed. Nobody needs this confrontation within the country,” stated Nazarbayev.

He stressed that the upcoming meeting of the leaders of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will provide an opportunity to discuss topical issues of current and future cooperation.

In turn, Alexander Lukashenko noted the importance of further development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The President of Belarus raised the issue of the upcoming presidential election in Kazakhstan: “I know that the Kazakhstani people treat you with high respect and warmth. You also know about our attitude towards you. We want you to win the presidential election.”

Let us remind you that Nazarbayev signed a decree on an early presidential election on April 26, 2015. Then he shared his plans to compete for the Presidency. Nursultan Nazarbayev has led Kazakhstan since 1989.
