Australian sanctions against Russia to enter into force


Australia joined the European Union, the USA and Canada in their restrictive measures

Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop announced that sanctions against Russia entered into force, reported The Australian.

The sanctions related to arms and mining equipment trading, infrastructure investment are "a response to the Russian aggression and threats against Ukraine."

The newspaper reports that the sanctions are similar to those imposed against Russia by Europe, Canada and the United States.

The decision to impose sanctions against Russia was adopted in September 2014.
