Opposition asked Sobyanin to erect monument to Nemtsov


The opposition asked the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin to erect the monument to Boris Nemtsov, who was murdered on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge. The relevant document has already been submitted to the Moscow City Government, TASS reports.

According to the agency, the appeal was signed by the co-leader of the RPR Parnas party Mikhail Kasyanov, its Political Council member Ilya Yashin, the former candidate for the mayor of Moscow Aleksey Navalny and other activists.

"Boris Nemtsov has gone down in the history of our country as a brilliant politician and statesman, whose fate was inextricably intertwined with the fate of the new democratic Russia," the document says.

On April 7, an event in memory of Boris Nemtsov called "A moment of NON-silence" began on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge at 11 a.m. "The organizers call for everyone who is not indifferent to the politician to pay tribute to him by stopping for a minute or beeping car horns.
