More than 200 people seek medical help after fires in Khakassia


The Ministry of Health reports, 62 people are in hospital in a serious condition.

According to the recent data, 213 people sought medical help after fires in Khakassia, informs press officer of the Ministry of Health Anna Borodina.

“Currently, 213 people sought medical help, 62 of them were hospitalized in a grave and serious condition. The others received first aid and were sent home,” she said.

Sunday evening, the authorities of Khakassia introduced a state of emergency due to fires in the region. The Russian Emergencies Ministry stated the cause of large-scale fires in Khakassia – illegal grass burning.

Sunday evening the regional Emergencies Ministry informed of 42 localities covered by fire. The fire damaged about 900 buildings. Earlier the Ministry stated 21 localities were burnt.
