According to a source in "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (A Just Russia) party, the deputies haven`t obtained the approval of their initiative from the party leadership

The leadership of "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" reprimanded the deputies Valery Zubov, Sergey Doronin and Mikhail Serdyuk for violating faction discipline, reports the press service of the party.

This decision was announced at the presidium meeting of the Governing Council of the party.

The source in "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" explained that the reprimand is related to the draft law on lifting product initiated by these deputies which they submitted to the State Duma. According to him, the deputies hadn`t obtained the approval for this initiative from the leadership of the faction.

"There`s a procedure for approving of parliamentary initiatives. 10 days before proposing the draft law they are required to present their initiative to the faction leadership. It was not done in this case," said the source.

On Wednesday Zubov, Doronin and Serduk brought in the draft law to the State Duma that provides regulation of embargo on products in Russia by law rather than by government decree. The deputies also said that banning of the import of products contradicts paragraph 1 of Article 34 of the Constitution, according to which "everyone has the right to freely use their abilities and property for entrepreneurship and other economic activity not prohibited by the law".

Earlier on Thursday, vice-speaker of the State Duma Nikolay Levichev representing "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" called the initiative of the deputies "backstabbing".

"There`s a difficult and unique situation in the country. All the effort of the President, of the executive and legislative power, of our voters is aimed at overcoming the consequences of sanctions. These efforts have their effect already. And the proposal by our fellow deputies is nothing but a stab in the back of a number of domestic manufacturers who have already adjusted to the new conditions," the press service of the party quotes Levichev`s words.
