Rospotrebnadzor suspended import of Polish cheese

The Federal Supervision Agency for Customer Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) has suspended the import of cheese and cheese-like products made in the Republic of Poland.

The Agency indicated violation of regulatory requirements as a reason. Thus, examination of the cheese-like product "Veselaya korovka" produced by OSTROWIA Sp. z.o.o. found its incompatibility with the technical regulations of the Customs Union "Food products in terms of their labeling" and "On safety of milk and dairy products".

According to the Agency, the import of cheese and cheese-like products from Poland to Russia is suspended from February 20. Observing the rules of the World Trade Organization Rospotrebnadzor sent this information to its own regional offices and the Federal Customs Service.
