Kazakhstan expects Thai tourists flow increase due to visa liberalization


The authorities of Thailand expect the flow of Thai tourists wishing to visit Kazakhstan to increase due to the visa liberalization, said the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan on Monday.

According to the Foreign Ministry Kazakhstan took part in the international tourism exhibition fair in Thailand, where Kazakhstan was presented by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the national airline "Air Astana".

During this visit, talks were held between the Ambassador to Thailand Marat Yesenbayev and the Minister of Tourism and Sport of Thailand Kobkarn Suriyasat Wattanavrangkul.

She noted that with the opening of a new regular flight Astana-Bangkok the number of Kazakh tourists arriving in Thailand has increased. According to her, more than 70 thousand people of Kazakhstan visited Thailand in 2014.

"The Minister underlined that Kazakhstan is an attractive destination for the citizens of Thailand. So, Thailand is interested in further development of cooperation with Kazakhstan in the field of tourism. Visa liberalization for Thailand will lead to a sharp increase in the flow of Thai tourists to Kazakhstan," says the report.

International tourism exhibition fair is one of the largest tourist events in Thailand. The exhibition is attended by representatives of national and regional travel agencies, luxury hotels, resorts, air companies, representatives of the press.
