Bombardier Inc.ceased Q400 planes production in Russia


Earlier Bombardier together with Rostec State Corporation planned to start the final installation of the aircraft in Ulyanovsk and set up the manufacture process in 2015.

Due to the difficult economic situation the Canadian Bombardier ceased the Q400 planes mass production in Russia. The news was announced by Mark Gilbert, the Bombardier Business Development Director of Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe during the conference in Yakutsk. The Rostec Corporation got about 50 orders of Bombardier Q400 planes. “Due to the difficult economic situation we’ve made a decision to cease the mass production in Russia. But when the situation changes, the talks on this issue will be renewed,” stated Gilbert.

Bombardier Inc. had planned to launch 25 planes a year. The number of utilizable planes in Russia should have been 250-270 in 2030. Nowadays about 60-70 planes are run in Russia.
