"Sunstroke" by Mikhalkov nominated for Oscar from Russia

Among the films to be nominated were "Sunstroke" by Mikhalkov, "Arventur" by Irina Yevteyeva, "Fool" by Bykov and "Battalion" by Meskhiyev, "Battle for Sevastopol" by Mokritsky, "Orleans" by Proshkin, "Under Electric Clouds" by Herman Jr.

The Russian Oscar Committee has submitted the film "Sunstroke" by Nikita Mikhalkov for the Oscar Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, the source close to the Committee told RIA Novosti.

All the members of the Oscar Committee presided by Vladimir Menshov had a list of 60 Russian films released from October 2014 to September 2015.

Among the films to be nominated were "Sunstroke" by Mikhalkov, "Arventur" by Irina Yevteyeva, "Fool" by Bykov and "Battalion" by Meskhiyev, "Battle for Sevastopol" by Mokritsky, "Orleans" by Proshkin, "Under Electric Clouds" by Herman Jr.

"Leviathan" by Andrey Zvyagintsev was among Oscar-nominated films last year, but it yielded the palm to the Polish film "Ida".
